Responsibilities:
- Provide cost estimates for labor and materials.
- Create layouts that adhere to building codes using measuring instruments.
- Cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
- Prepare and present tenders and quotes.
- Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and build walls and roofs.
- Install and fit windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Organize and oversee work on construction sites.
- Train and guide apprentices.
- Handle maintenance, repairs, and renovations of residences and wooden structures in various settings like mills, hospitals, and industrial sites.
Job Details:
- Employment Type: Full-time, year-round
- Pay: Starting at $23.00 per hour
- Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week
- Overtime: 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 8 per day and 40 per week
- Vacation Pay: 4% of base wages
- Vacation: Three weeks of paid vacation per year
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of carpentry experience or related experience.
- Completion of secondary education.
- Knowledgeable in using various tools and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently and with attention to detail.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
